Timber beams in historic buildings tend to display signs of mechanical degradation the form large bending deformations and reduced capacity, often caused by timber defects. This paper addresses assessment resistance small subjected static loads, before after they have been reinforced using Fibre Reinforced Polymer sheets (FRP). The retrofitting elements FRP is not a new technique several experimental research programmes demonstrated that it possible increase capacity wood FRPs. It well understood premature failure under loading are defects (e.g. splay or dead knots, shakes, etc.). presents an work where locally applied area were noted. structural response when flexural was studied series experiments. results from tests demonstrate partially restore defective with application reinforcement method proposed this paper.
